THE FOAM COLLECTIVE

~Give Us A Space And We Will Fill It~

The Foam Collective is a growing group of artist contributors and tinkerers making whimsical creations within the parameter of ReCycle, ReUse, RePurpose, ReNew and Leave No Trace. Founded in 2012, The Foam Collective has been bringing its projects to area festivals and events along the mid-Atlantic coast, documenting them and sharing the results online.

Installations generally are presented as a collage of sub projects, designed to conform to the needs of an event space and theme. Once this has been set, the composition and layout of any presentation is decided upon by the group of contributors who plan to attend. A collaborator can host their individual sub project as a team lead, or act more in a support role, as desired. Each member lends their own unique flavor to The Collective, whatever role they choose to take. Roles are interchangeable, and the group strives for an equal exchange of labor and responsibility and say.

Members possess a diverse skill set in a variety of creative forms, including but not limited to: fire & flow arts, yoga, Paleo stone knapping, 3d printing, burnable art and pyrotechnical displays, creations in wood and metal, works in lycra and other fabrics, microbrewing, video and film, experimental photography, timelapse, painting, printing, cooking, drawing, experimental sound/ambient environments, DJing, VJing, web design, electronic creations, wildcrafting, landscaping, gardening and social media. So there is a large pool of talents to pull from, which adds to the ease of making an installation that is site and theme appropriate. Additionally, within our extended network of friends in the mid Atlantic arts community there are many others who's various artistic skills can also be brought to bear.
