BYO Hand Tools is a hands on performance art piece that encourages the public to join in. Part meet and greet, part maker workshop, part knowledge base/information exchange, part performance art installation and part gallery space, BYO Hand Tools is designed to engage the observer to want to participate. It is a vehicle of learning and network expansion. It is a showcase for emerging and established artists and art forms, and a way for the public to view and participate with them. BYO Hand Tools seeks to inspire, experiment and create, while drawing attention to the possibilities of the space that hosts it.

BYO Hand Tools is a space where you can bring your ideas, come to learn, enjoy making and displaying the products of your labor in a supportive and growing environment, all with a full range of media coverage. The public will be shown that art can be made with just about anything: it's the idea that counts. BYO Hand Tools seeks to demystify the processes behind successfully implementing artistic visions to make art less intimidating to the interested novice. It will teach practical methods of incorporating the ethic of ReCycle, ReUse, RePurpose, ReNew and Leave No Trace, and show how this can assist in making artistic visions a reality.
