Mindful of the Bön Prayer Flag tradition of Darchor (Dar="to increase life, fortune, health and wealth",
"Cho"="all sentient beings"), Solar Wish Spires are dedicated to the Spirit of Hope. Participants write their hopes,
wishes and dreams on lengths of cotton cloth during the day and night, placing them in a bag hanging on the Center
Spire. Right before dawn every morning, the collected wishes are attached to the Spires, to blow in the breeze
during the upcoming day and night. On the last night of the event they are burned with ceremony, to release all of
their good energy with the hope that the wishes come true. The addition of shading elements is designed to make
the experience more comfortable for the participants.
Solar Wish Spires are solar charged lighted PVC spires that are 18 to 28 feet tall when extended. They are designed
to be presented in groups of three Spires - two 18 foot Spires and one 28 foot Spire. They telescope for easy
transport at a 10' final transport length. When extended and set in place, Solar Wish Spires are self contained and
self charging, with attractive visual elements during both the day and night. Solar Wish Spires have solar charged
purple LED string lights that wrap around them as vines would. The Solar Wish Spires can be used to delineate areas
or mark important sites as they are easily recognizable from a distance. All lights charge by day, and light at dusk,
shining and twinkling through the night powered by energy from the sun.
